Letter of Support February 19, 2001

Native America Dear United Native America: On behalf of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, I support the National Holiday for Native Americans which would constitute changing Columbus Day to Native American Day as opposed to creating a new tax paid holiday, Columbus Day would be celebrated like St. Patrick's Day, etc. and not be paid for by taxpayers. We support the introduction in Congress of a bill designating such. We understand this effort is being led my Ms. Kimberly Teehee and the Indian Caucus in Washington, DC with over 100 members represented in this group. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me or my Assistant Kathryn Bell. Sincerely, |
